Dr Shai Vyakarnam featured in BBC News story covering Autonomy sale to HP (19 Aug 2011)

Dr Shai Vyakarnam, co-founder and director of AcceleratorIndia is featured in BBC News story covering Autonomy, the Cambridge-based software company's sale to Hewlett Packard (HP).

HP's planned purchase of Autonomy comes as it is moving out of the personal computer market to instead focus on business systems and software. Autonomy was set up by researchers at Cambridge University and specialises in pattern-recognition technologies. This enables companies to more easily search electronic data, particularly in cases involving compliance and legal issues.

In the article, Dr Vyakarnam discusses the impact of the news of the takeover in the context of current global stock market woes and the progress of Autonomy from a Cambridge start-up to a global leader in software.

He also highlights the role of Dr Mike Lynch, a Cambridge graduate who went all the way from being a visionary founder of Autonomy, to the CEO leading the company to a successful exit.
