AcceleratorIndia’s ACTIV (Accelerated Commercialisation of Technology and InnoVation) workshops aim to tackle the challenges of commercialising novel technologies from research through UK India collaboration and sharing the experience from the UK.
Organised in 2010, the ACTIV workshops transferred the experience and key lessons learnt in science-based entrepreneurship from Cambridge to India, with the primary objective to develop the next generation of Indian technology entrepreneurs to successfully bring their innovations to market.
The workshops resulted in a number of qualitative and quantitative outputs that vary from educating scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs in approaches from commercialising technology to developing a commercial orientation, personnel and capacity development, ecosystem impact and creation of networks.
The post-workshops report, titled "Accelerating UK - India Innovation Partnerships - Reflections from the ACTIV workshops" was released in March 2011 at the British High Commission, Delhi. The report offers a snapshot of the standard and emerging approaches to commercialisation in the UK and India, with case studies and an action plan for future engagement.
The report is available for download from the British High Commission site here.
